Growing in Christ at Vernon UMC
July 1, 2018

Praise God it has been one year since my appointment here at the Vernon United Methodist Church. One year ago, I walked in to a congregation of caring devoted people of God who welcomed me with open arms. What a true blessing for my first full-time appointment.

Over the year I have been blessed to get to know most and over the next year I hope to get to know the rest including any new people that God brings to our fold.

The energy and love within this congregation definitely flows into the community where I have also been able to know wonderful people. The Vernon Day, Memorial Parade and service, the Christmas Concert, and of course our Vacation Bible School have all helped me to be involved with members of the Vernon and outlying communities.

I am looking forward to a new year of building bonds and sharing God’s grace and love with those I meet. If you are one of the people I have yet to know please come have a conversation with me and let us work together for God’s people who are all around us.

I would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the ministry of Vernon United Methodist Church and the Vernon community over this past year. The bridges we build and the relationships we share help us to get through both the good times and the bad.

God's grace surpasses our understanding and allows us to be God’s hands and feet in this world for the glory of God. You have all been a great inspiration to me. I thank God for bringing me here in relationship with you all.

"Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16 (NRSV)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Pastor Connie
